Sweat/Head Bands
One of the most essential items of match-day wear is a sweat band.
As the name would suggest, the main purpose of a sweat band is to stop sweat from reaching crucial body parts. Although the bands cannot stop you sweating, they do still play an important role. Head bands are used to keep sweat out of the player’s eyes, while many players also where bands on their wrists to keep their hands as free from sweat as possible.
The traditional sweat band design has changed little since its conception. The bands are usually elasticised and covered in an absorbent material, most often a wool/cotton composite. It is best to use them while practicing, so you are fully used to the feel before a match.
