Vibration Dampeners

When a tennis ball connects with your racquet, ultimately you are stopping a natural flow of kinetic energy.

Particularly in the modern game, this energy can be very powerful. Imagine throwing a ball into a puddle of water at the speed it would hit a racquet; the ripples that would be created in water are from this stopping of energy.

This can be particularly damaging during play, as you receive the ball on your racquet. Unlike the water example, there is nowhere for the energy to disperse to apart from the racquet. This energy creates a vibration on the racquet, which can make it difficult to control your return shot.

Thankfully, this is easily prevented with the use of vibration dampeners. Although vibration dampeners only cost a small amount – usually under $5 – they can have a big effect on your game. Vibration dampeners are very small, designed to be slotted into the strings of your current racquet to stop the damaging vibrations that can ruin your return point. They also provide plenty of humorous moments when a particularly forceful shot causes one to fly off!
