Recent Blogs: Good signs early on.Written 09 March, 2009 A lot has happened since we launched the Tadpole Tennis website only one week ago. We have had coaches and parents register with Tadpole Tennis, received numerous emails of support and have had some corporate interest. We have even received enteries for our colouring-in competition. Everything seems to be moving along nicely which is great because it allows us to start planning and implementing Tadpole Tennis Phase 2. Phase 2 will be predominantly based on a community section, which will allow parents, coaches and children to share photographs, stories, drawings and more. Also included in Phase 2 will be coach profiles to allow coaches to inform people about their coaching business. In addition to the above, there will be a few other special features which we would like to surprise you with. Stay tuned for an update on the expected date of completion for Phase 2.
What a day!Written 28 February, 2009 This morning we met 10 children and their parents as well as two coaches and the photographer. It was a sensational morning weather-wise and I am pleased to say that the photographer captured everything that Tadpole Tennis is all about…children, equipment, coaches, sun, fitness and friends. The children had a lot of fun playing tennis, using court equipment such as agility ladders, reaction balls, beanbags and more. The children also seemed pretty pumped about their new Tadpole Tennis Shirts, Bookmarks and Tattoos! In fact, after talking to the children and their parents after the two-hour photo shoot, it was clear that Tadpole Tennis is a winner. I don’t ever recall seeing so many smiles after a tennis lesson. This was definitely one of the highlights to date for us. Anyway, we now have some 180 photos to choose from, edit and upload to the website. We were wondering what we were going to do for the afternoon and most of the night!
So close to launch, yet so much to do.Written 27 February, 2009 Well, we are getting extremely close to launch and to say we are excited is an understatement. Today we collected from our printer Tadpole Tennis Bookmarks, Posters, Flyers and Certificates and they all look awesome! Also, we printed our first batch of Tadpole Tennis Tattoos and they look pretty cool. I must say that Nick has absolutely nailed the Tadpole Tennis resources. In about 9 hours (Saturday morning) we have our photographer, about 10 kids (and their parents) and a couple of Tadpole Tennis Coaches meeting us at the local courts to have photos taken for our website. This is quite exciting but the excitement is overshadowed by the fact that I am still to prepare a list of all the shots we require. I suspect that will take a good couple of hours. Anyway, we are looking forward to tomorrow and hearing from the kids and parents about what they think of Tadpole Tennis. Fingers crossed!
Bringing the content to you.Written 20 February, 2009 Today we started uploading into our website the Tadpole Tennis Lesson Plans, Articles, Tips & Tricks, Drills & Exercises and other interesting bits of information. We particularly enjoyed this because only now are we seeing our website pull together like we had hoped. In fact, this is actually turning out to be better than we had hoped! What we always knew, but only now fully realise, is that all of the above content is so valuable to coaches, parents and kids. If only this was around when I was coaching, my life as a tennis pro would have been so much easier... Tadpole Tennis and Signum Pro on the ball!Written 12 February, 2009 Today we spoke with Gary Wormington of Tennace (the exclusive Australian distributor of Signum Pro) to discuss low compression balls. In doing so, we gave Gary temporary access to the Tadpole Tennis website in order for him to get an understanding of what we are doing. Gary's response was very positive and consequently, he expressed his willingness to support Tadpole Tennis by providing Signum Pro Low Compression Balls at a very generous price. This means that we can pass our savings on to you. Be sure to check out the Signum Pro Low Compression Balls in the Tadpole Tennis Store. Thanks Gary! |
